Types of Massage
Remedial Massage
Designed to relieve aches and pains, helping reduce stiffness in the body through removing knots. It can also be used to reduce muscle tension caused during everyday activities and competing, by helping improve your postural awareness and incorporating different stretches to increase flexibility and reduce tightness. It will improve full range of motion without restrictions, reducing the risk of future injuries.
Pre-Event
Designed to stimulate specific muscles which will be exerted during an activity, the massage will increase blood circulation promoting oxygen, increase flexibility and help to mentally prepare the client. Consisting of a variety of tapotement techniques involving rhythmical tapping or percussion of the soft tissue. This type of massage is carried out 15-90 minutes before the event.
Post-Event
Designed to promote blood flow after exercise, increasing recovery time and reducing muscle soreness and fatigue. Through removing toxins in the muscles which are released during physical activity. As exercise increases the bodies circulation of lymphatic fluid, which helps flush out toxins more effectively. Such as lactic acid which is released into the body during high intensity activity. Finishing the session with effective stretches to further relax the muscles, this is usually received within 2 hours of partaking in physical activity.
